Bay Head Yacht Club Wedding on the Water

I’m so excited to finally be blogging one of my favorite weddings! When Anne and Eric first reached out to me, we immediately connected because we had all gone to Penn State, and I knew their day was going to be one big party. They had also been together for over ten years, and their connection was so obvious and sweet, I just knew their wedding was one I wanted to be part of! Their wedding was actually the weekend before my own, but I just couldn’t resist!

Both Anne and Eric are originally from New Jersey so it was important for them to get married in their home state. The water also played an important part in both of their lives, (Anne grew up on the beach; Eric grew up life guarding and competitive swimming; they were engaged while sailing on the San Francisco bay) which made The Bay Head Yacht Club the perfect venue for their day. They even had plans to hop on a boat right after their ceremony and sail off into the sunset (with yours truly getting to tag along) for a few minutes to soak in those newly married feelings before partying it up with their guests!

They wanted their day to be classic and simple, with lush greenery, white florals by Flowers by Rhonda and touches of gold. At the end of the evening, they had custom ice cream sandwiches from a Penn State friend who owns an ice cream shop, Sundae’s Best, as well as pork roll and cheese sandwiches - a special NJ treat that most out-of-towners had never tried. They also featured beers local to the area as well as San Francisco - where they had lived for five years.

Their band, The Jersey Joint, led the ridiculously fun reception. During the cake cutting, the bride and groom actually got iced by some of their guests and the reactions were priceless! Another one of my favorite moments came towards the end of the night when everyone formed a circle around Anne and Eric and sang ‘With a Little Help from my Friends’ - You could feel all of the love in the room and how much it meant to the couple to have each and every person there.
